That's where having a smooth and delicious coconut and coffee recipe in your back pocket can come in handy. This delicious combination of flavors is a favorite for creating a quick moment of relaxation and calm.

At Kauai Coffee, pairing coffee with coconut is as natural as a tropical breeze passing through palm trees. This perfect pair is simple, satisfying, and just tropical enough to transport yourself to paradise without leaving your kitchen.

Learn more about this delicious flavor combination and get three recipes to keep on hand when you need an instant trip to the tropics.

Why We Love Coconut and Coffee

Coffee and coconut are a natural pair because they both grow in the lush Hawaiian landscape. Coconut was introduced to the islands by Polynesian Voyagers and coffee's journey to Hawaii is full of twists and turns worthy of a Hollywood storyline.

Both of these island wonders are bold in their own ways. Our medium roast coffee is a rich and lightly floral palate pleaser, while coconut can take many flavorful forms. From smooth and creamy to toasty and nutty, adding coconut to coffee results in a well-balanced cup with a silky and satisfying texture.

Brew our 100% Hawaiian Coconut Caramel Crunch coffee, add a touch of milk or cream and now you have a cup that is easy to love. You can make it hot or cold, simple or complex. No matter how you enjoy it, coconut and coffee always come together in a way that feels like a treat and is the perfect five-minute mental getaway.

Three Coconut and Coffee Recipes to Try Right Now

Toasted Coconut Cold Brew

Ingredients

1 cup Kauai Coffee cold brew concentrate (recipe here)

  • 1/2 cup frothy coconut milk
  • Whipped cream
  • Toasted coconut flakes
  • Ice
  • Sweetener of choice (optional)

Instructions

Use Kauai Coffee 100% Hawaiian Coconut Caramel Crunch and prepare your cold brew concentrate according to the instructions here.

  1. Fill a tall drinking glass with ice.
  2. Add cold brew concentrate and top with frothy coconut milk. We recommend full, fat coconut for the best results, but any coconut milk will work.
  3. If you like your coffee sweet, add a touch of simple syrup or sugar.
  4. Garnish with toasted coconut flakes and enjoy!

Tip: toast your coconut flakes over medium heat in a dry skillet until golden and fragrant.

Coconut Cream Latte

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Make the coconut simple syrup by heating equal parts sugar and water in a pot over medium heat. Once the sugar has dissolved, remove it from the heat, stir in one teaspoon of vanilla extract and one teaspoon of coconut extract, then let it cool.
  2. Use an espresso machine, moka pot, or AeroPress brewer and finely ground Kauai Coffee to brew a shot of espresso.
  3. Steam your milk of choice or heat it on your stove or in the microwave and whip it with an electric frother.
  4. Add coconut simple syrup to your mug, pour in the espresso, and top with the steamed milk.

Tip: For an extra creamy coconut latte, use full-fat coconut milk or add a little bit of coconut oil to your milk before frothing.
