Over the years, my wife & I have been fortunate enough to visit the Kauai Coffee Estate during three different trips. With each visit, I would make use of their outdoor tasting room to sample new varieties. Each time, I would generally buy a bag of a different type like Mundo Novo, Rooster Alarm or Poipu Estate. My favorite had been Peaberry until I tried the Kalaheo Estate dark roast variety. Which coffee tastes best is a matter of personal preference. The Kalaheo Estate coffee has all the attributes that I like in a good cup of coffee, a smooth but bold flavor that isn’t bitter. While this isn’t an artificially flavored coffee, I would agree with the company’s description of rich, chocolate overtones. I just bought a 5 pound bag of the Kalaheo Estate whole bean coffee, if that tells you how much I like this coffee!
