Coffees scored at 90 and above are considered an outstanding specialty coffee. Rum Barrel Aged Coffee is the highest-scoring Kauai Coffee to date, and we are excited about the future of small-batch and specialty coffee to come from our Seed to Cup project.
How It's Made
100% Kauai Coffee is aged in rum barrels sourced from our friends and island neighbors at Koloa Rum. The aging process gives our delicious Kauai-grown beans a unique and delicate flavor profile that is complex and bright with flavor notes of rum, cocoa, floral honey, dried berries, and oak.

- Blind Assessment: Deep-toned, sweetly fermenty. Oak barrel, chocolate fudge, raspberry, freesia-like flowers, a hint of rum in aroma and cup. Sweet structure with gentle, round acidity; satiny-smooth mouthfeel. Chocolaty, oak-toned finish with rum undertones.
- Notes: Kauai Coffee, Hawaii's largest coffee producer, operates a popular visitor center and tasting room on its farm on the south coast of the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
